Kenneth R. O'Kelley, M.D., F.A.C.O.G.

Kenneth R. O'Kelley, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. Dr. O’Kelley joined Generations in 1989 and says he enjoys all aspects of the practice of obstetrics and gynecology, especially his relationships with patients and peers. He specializes in “minimally invasive procedures,” including in-office treatment for heavy menstrual periods with Her Option® and for permanent birth control with Essure®. He serves as a physician trainer for these techniques and is trained in the treatment of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.

He says women who need surgery deserve the best in modern technology and advanced training so they may return to their lives and families quickly and safely. That’s why he developed the advanced surgical skills needed to perform laparoscopic hysterectomy, which significantly reduces postoperative pain and promotes a rapid return to normal activities. More information about this new approach is available at http://www.hysterectomyoptions.com.

Dr. O’Kelley has served as co-investigator for the Institute for Female Pelvic Medicine in clinical research, and has co-authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals. He works both locally and nationally on initiatives that improve the quality of healthcare for women and raise community awareness of important women’s health issues through appearances on the “Dr. Bob” show and in other venues.

Dr. O’Kelley’s philanthropic activities include regular trips to Guatemala through Knoxville Medical Missions. He also serves on the board of directors at Hope Resource Center and is active in his church. Dr. O’Kelley is married, has two children, and enjoys spending time with his family.
